10:11 am - It takes all kinds

So my 12-year-old, seventh-grade daughter gets off the school bus yesterday, and there's some fucking creep sitting there in a car, waiting. After the bus leaves and the two other kids who get off at the same stop go the other direction (she's the only one who goes her direction), he rolls down the window and tries to get her to go with him to help him "find that road over there." Thank (insert whomever/whatever one might thank here), she did the right thing. She pointed in the opposite direction and said, "Over there," and then ran home. I called the police to let them know, and they actually sent an officer to our house to take the report from my girl. At first, I thought maybe it was overkill, but in hindsight, I think it was good. It reinforced for her that this IS a serious thing, and I think it was important for her to hear directly from the officer that she did exactly the right thing. She's just fine, but Mom is still a little shook up. Guess who's picking her kids up from school today and not letting them ride the bus home?
